The main focus of English lessons Tokyo is to make sure all of our teachers are Native English speakers. This is important because it means you can learn English the correct way with the correct accent. Currently, all of our teachers are from the United Kingdom. All of the teachers have a neutral accent that is easy to understand.
Every teacher is fully qualified and all have experience in teaching. This is very important because we want our students to learn as fast as possible. All teachers also undergo a full background check to make sure every student gets the highest quality of teacher available.

Owen Evans is a professional English Teacher from the UK.
Hi Everyone, My Name is Owen Evans and I am a professional Native English teacher from the UK. I have a lot of experience in teaching students of all levels. I pride myself on making sure my lessons are fun and exciting whilst also making sure you improve your English. Together we will learn a range of skills including Grammar, Pronunciation and conversational skills.
I’ve been teaching English for over two years to students from all over the world. I have also taught guitar for almost 10 years. I currently hold a Degree in Music as well as being a TEFL certified teacher.
My hobbies include Travelling, Music, Guitar, Football/Soccer, Language, Food and Culture so I am confident that we can find lots of topics to talk about.

Both IELTS and TOEFL tutoring are available to help you prepare for any upcoming exams you may have. I can also book your exam for you if you need help.
Yes, I can speak conversational Japanese which I find helps with a lot of my beginner students.
We recommend that you take at least two lessons per week. This could be two 30 minute lessons or two one hour lessons. The length of the lesson will depend on the age of the student.
How Lessons Work
Lessons are taken via video chat or call. We would recommend using Skype or Facetime. It is possible to use other platforms though. A free 15-minute lesson to discuss what you want to learn is available. You can download Skype for free by clicking here.
Documents & textbooks will be sent over via email before the lesson takes place. If your instructor wants you to buy a textbook for the lessons they will let you know before the lesson takes place.
Payment has to be received at least 4 hours before each lesson. We recommend that you are ready for your lesson at least 10 mins before it is due to start. This is best for everyone involved.
When the lesson has finished, your teacher will send a review form with words that you need to practice. This document will also include new vocabulary you have learned. It is expected that you practice these words so you can improve your English level. Review forms can be sent in English, 日本語, 한국어 & 中文.
Prices
These are our prices:
$15 per 30 min lesson.
$30 per 60 min lesson.
Payment has to be received at least 4 hours before the scheduled lesson. If the payment is not received then the lesson will be cancelled. If you have a different arrangement with your teacher then this rule does not apply. Payment details will be sent via email once a lesson is arranged. To arrange a lesson please send us an email on the details provided.
We accept payment via Bank Transfer, Paypal, Linepay & Transferwise. Other options are available so please email if you have any questions.

If you are interested in buying some English books to help with your studies or to read in your own time, go no further than Kinokuniya bookstore which has a wide selection of English books and study materials. Our favourite branch is located on 〒151-0051 Tokyo, Shibuya, Sendagaya, 5 Chome−24−2.
If you are looking for an English themed bar with beer from the UK go no further than the BrewDog Bar on5 Chome-3-2 Roppongi, Minato, Tokyo 106-0032. This bar serves incredible craft beer from Scotland and many others from across Europe.
If you just want to try some English food then one of our favourites is the Captain Cook Resturant. They serve UK food with the slogan “Uk food that is actually delicious”. We can’t argue with that. It can be found on 5 Chome-2-37 Minamiazabu, Tokyo, 106-0047.
If you are looking for a British English school go no further than The British School. It is one of the best international schools in Tokyo with all classes being taught in English.
If you are looking to Study English in further education both The University of Tokyo and the Tokyo Metropolitan University offer English based courses and the opportunity to study in English.
